Pixels of Lost Time and Space
visual research, 2021-2022'Pixels of lost time and space' is a visual research involving creative re-use of archival materials in projects with science fiction or alternative-reality scenarios, focusing on experimental video and animation.
Through different techniques I try to create scifi visuals starting from archival photos of Rotterdam.
Supported by Stimuleringsfonds Experiment grant.
Other projects part of OPPER worldbuilding
Birth of OPPER part I

Zephyr Chants
Visions of 010 melting
Electrons on the threshold
3D visuals (in collaboration with Ryan Cherewaty)
AI-generated images and videos
For this part of the research I fed collections of images from the City archive of Rotterdam (sometimes combined with my own images or screenshots of Google Maps) to an AI image generator. The results were still images and animations/videos.
Made in 2022 with playform.io (Freeform function (64+64 source images, x hours trained, 6400 resulting images))
